Sensational pop, hip hop, and reggaetón artists Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, and CNCO are bringing their signature sounds to the Frank Erwin Center!
Pitbull (birth name Armando Christian Pérez) was born in Miami in 1981 and is a rapper record producer. He takes his stage name from pit bulls because they “bite to lock. The dog is too stupid to lose. They're basically everything that I am. It's been a constant fight.” He was influenced by the Miami bass genre of pop music and he cites Celia Cruz and Willy Chirino as his biggest influences. His musical style is best described as a blend of hip hop, pop, and reggaetón (a form of dance music of Puerto Rican origin, characterized by a fusion of Latin rhythms, dancehall, and hip hop). His first mainstream appearance was on a single (titled Pitbulls Cuban Rideout) from Lil Jon's 2002 album, Kings of Crunk. He went on to have a stellar career with 10 studio albums, 3 compilation albums, 3 extended plays, 1 remix album, 4 mixtapes, and 80 singles (49 of them as a featured artist), and 35 music videos. He’s won 7 American Music Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, 5 Billboard Music Awards, 2 Latin Grammy Awards, 2 International Dance Music Awards, 1 People's Choice Award, and many others.
