Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band, Michigan’s sensational rock artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Frank Erwin Center!
Robert Clark "Bob" Seger was born in Detroit in 1945 and is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and pianist. Over the years, his musical style has spanned many genres such as rock, heartland rock (a subgenre of rock music characterized by a straightforward musical style, a concern with the average, blue collar American life, and a conviction that rock music has a social or communal purpose beyond just entertainment), roots rock (a subgenre of rock music that takes inspiration from various American musical traditions such as country, blues, and folk), rock and roll, pop rock, and hard rock. In 1974, he recruited guitarist Drew Abbott, drummer and back up singer Charlie Allen Martin, keyboard player Rick Manasa, bass guitarist Chris Campbell, and saxophone player Alto Reed to form the Silver Bullet Band. They released their debut studio album (Night Moves) in 1976 and it hit #8 on the US Billboard 200 chart. They went on to have a stellar career with 6 more studio albums (5 of which were top 10 hits on the Billboard 200) and in 2004, Bob was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
